Yay for warm weather!

This past week's weather has been perfect here in Pensacola. We even got some thunderstorms yesterday : ). Boy have I missed those. It's been in the mid 60's, low 70's and GORGEOUS. Matt just planted some lovely flowers in the front and some herbs in the back. The trees are in full bloom in the yard. Spring is definitely here! We're enjoying this brief window of nice, warm weather before it gets ungodly hot. Scarlett loves to kick around her soccer ball, ride her "bike", push her baby in it's stroller, etc.

We're getting back into the swing of things around here. I've been doing a lot of cooking this past week. I've made a large amount of Indian food to freeze (palak paneer, mutter paneer, and butter chicken), two pans of baked ziti, pasta sauce from scratch, homemade pasta, herbed salad dressing, we've had fresh salad everyday with avocado, fresh greens, tomatoes, roasted marinated vegetables, and bread. The bread turned out FANTASTIC. I came across this method for baking bread called the No-Knead Bread method. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hlk/389341090/ The bread comes out looking and tasting like it's from a bakery. Plus it's so easy.

Scarlett is steadily developing into a toddler. I tried bringing her to our local library's story time yesterday and she didn't do to well with it. She refused to sit on my lap and her own chair. I encouraged her to sit on the floor with the other kids and she started crying. I was finally able to get her onto her own chair with her own book for 5 minutes. All the sudden she noticed another little girl holding a Dora the Explorer book, which she had to have. On her way over to try and steal it she was distracted. She walked to the middle of the carpet full of kids sitting quietly and listening to the story. I kept encouraging her to sit and had high hopes when all the sudden she started to cry at the top of her lungs. We left after that. Maybe I'll try again in a few months.

Virginia

Here are some photos from our recent visit with the Hobert family. We also spent a few days in Pennsylvania visiting Grammy grace, Aunt Diane, and Uncle Rick.

Matt's parents let us use their house to host a get together. I made pizza, which was a big hit. We loved being able to see our friends and family. Here are some pictures from that night.

Scarlett with her Aunt YaYa......

We also got to visit my cousin Katie and meet her 7 month old, Bennett.

Scarlett was very interested in Bennett's shoes.

Scarlett and I got to visit my dear friend Golnesa, her mom and her grandparents. They made us a delicious breakfast and we had a nice visit.

We also got to spend some quality time with my mom, Allen, Cindy, and Mark and Judy, but for some reason or another, we never ended up taking any pictures : (

We're back home now, still recovering from the trip. I'm embarrassed to say that I still have not unpacked my suitcase. Those of you who know me well should not be surprised by this.

Here are some old pictures from before our trip up to Virginia. Scarlett's new thing is coloring. She climbs up on a chair at the kitchen table and asks(demands) to color. She's also been experimenting with sidewalk chalk.

Matt took Scarlett to the playground at the Pcola Airport and took some cute ones......
